  1. Hi Mark,

There are some great pools listed here for large dogs.  Being an owner of a water dog myself, (Golden Retriever), I am in need of a new pool for the hot summer months.  I had a kiddie pool for my dog when she was a puppy, but she has outgrown it, so I definitely need something larger.

I love that these pools can be folded for easy space-saving storage (unlike a kiddie pool).  To me, the best option sounds like the Jasonwell Foldable Dog Pool.  I like that it has a slip-resistant bottom and is durable enough to withstand any scratching, or chewing.

Thanks for your detailed review, it has made my decision easier.

  2. Not all dogs can swim. And some don’t even like the water. But my dog, both can swim and loves the water. So, this summer has been super hot here. And a good option to have him refresh in the afternoons would be a pool. I liked the Frisco pool. One of the things I liked most is how easy it is to set up.

  3. I love the picture of the dog in the pool under the water! Our first dog was a chocolate lab and she absolutely loved the water. We would always take her to the lake and she loved retrieving sticks that we threw into the water. Our current dog is a lab hound mix, and it’s funny because he absolutely hates the water. It’s funny there is so much difference. If your dog is one that likes the water, these are some really good options.

  4. I never thought of a dog pool, thank you for sharing this article. Dogs become a member of our families and should be treated with love and respect. The pool is a wonderful gift for our fury friends. However it you are going to invest in a dog pool you have to pick one that is sturdy and can resist being punctured by the dog’s nails. Your list is very detailed and one can make make a decision based on the information provided.

  5. Interesting, as I would have never thought of buying a pool for a dog. We are lucky enough to have a pool, but our dog won’t come anywhere near it. He even hates to be bathed. So I guess it is only some dogs that enjoy water?

If we had a dog that loved the water, would it be ok for him to share our pool? Obviously, he would need to be taught how to find his way out.

    • Hi Michel,

Both my dogs have their own pool, however if I am in my pool they are always joining me.

If you do let dogs swim in your pool you just need to keep an eye on the filters as they can fill with dog hair fairly quickly.
