So there has been a lot of talk lately about the great tasting and very popular Benebones and their amazing flavour!
Today I am going to talk about their flagship and best-selling Benebone which is the Wishbone.
These are a chew toy for the very aggressive chewers, and while many of our customers have asked can my dog eat benebones, I want to start this review off by straight away answering that with a big fat NO!
As with any chew toy, here at Our Dogs World 101 we suggest that you always keep an eye on your dogs use and definitely replace this wishbone after reasonable wear.
If this is left unmonitored, pieces may splinter or fall off and this could become a choking hazard if it gets stuck in your dogs throat.
With that being said lets jump straight into our review of the Benebone real bacon, real chicken, and real peanut wishbone dog chew toys.
What Is The Benebone Wishbone Chew Toy For Dogs?
What dog doesn’t love to chew on stuff? It could be your favorite shoes, perhaps the legs of your favorite dining room suite, or your favorite leather couch (Yes that was one of my stories).
What if you could find a chew toy that topped all these and your dogs went absolutely crazy for, wouldn’t that be something you would like to know about?
The Benebone Wishbone could be the answer to all your prayers!
So what is so great about this chew toy that takes an aggressive chewer away from all the other things he used to be so hell-bent on chewing and has them only ever wanting to chew on the wishbone?
Feedback from the over 50,000 dogs that have been reviewed it is simply because it is easy to handle, is long-lasting and they reckon the flavours are just like chewing on the real thing!
Think about it for a minute, if you had to have a chew (come on work your imagination for a second) would you rather be chewing on something that taste like rubber all day (Or in my dogs case leather) or something that really taste like bacon?
Brightly colored toys that squeak only last for so long, especially for heavy chewers, and most dogs get bored quickly, especially if they are left alone for a while.
A dogs biggest sense is his smell, closely followed by his taste and what Benebone have managed to do here is cover both those senses in a long-lasting and extremely durable chew.
I can guarantee you once your dog tastes one of these they will be hooked for life, and you can go about leaving your favorite shoes all over the house knowing they won’t be chewed again!
The Benebone Wishbone Versus The Other Chew Toys
If you do a quick google search on “Best Chew Toys” you will see what I was talking about earlier in that the majority of these are either rubber, which as I said would taste awful, or rope and materials and anyone who has a dog that likes to chew knows that these last about as long as it did for you to get it home.
In our opinion the only chew that comes close to the Benebone would be the Kong, and that’s only good while it has the taste of their favorite treat inside.
Once they have that treat, its back to chewing the shoes, dining room suite and furniture.
For less than a Big Mac meal you can get your dog one of these dawglicious long-lasting Benebones that will last at least two weeks even for the most aggressive of chewers.
Can My Dog Eat Benebones?
While the nylon is non-toxic, and the flavours are the real thing (Real Bacon and Real Chicken) it is not advisable to let your dog eat Benebones.
The risk it can pose is a choking hazard, and while this is extremely minimal we do suggest that when it is looking a little worse for wear that you order another one.
At about $5 per week you are already saving considerably from buying bones through your butcher, and you don’t have to deal with all the mess and smells that real animal bones leave.
Think about the cost of buying a bone a day from the butcher to deal with your dogs desire to chew!
Tell Me A Little More About The Benebone Wishbone
These are Benebones words not mine, but I thought they might be useful to know if you are serious about beating your dogs chewing habits and rescuing the remainder of your couch!
- DURABLE, LONG-LASTING – Super Chewer? Bring it on. Benebones are tougher than real bones and last for weeks.
- REAL BACON & REAL CHICKEN – They only use 100% REAL BACON 7 REAL CHICKEN for flavour. And they say trust us, dogs can tell the difference.
- EASY TO PICK UP AND CHEW – The Wishbone is curved for a paw-friendly grip so your pup can quickly grab it and get a good chew going. Makes sense really, dogs don’t have fingers and thumbs!
- USA MADE – They make and source everything in the USA.
- HAPPINESS GUARANTEED – Have an issue? Want to chat? They say reach out to us directly and you will get a real person whose sole job is to make you and your puppy happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A big win for my extremely aggressive chewer!

As a former vet tech, rescuer and pup momma I’ve come across some chewers that take the cake.
Of course, one of my own is the worse of the worst.
My monster lab/poodle mix can DESTROY just about anything I buy for him.
He snaps the ultra Kong in half without blinking and will crack even the largest Nylabones within a few minutes.
Even toys marketed as indestructible with money back warranties fall to their death in his jaws.
That said …. HE LOVES THIS BONE and hasn’t managed to do much damage to it which makes it one of the best chew toys I’ve ever encountered.

WARNING! PLEASE READ!
These bones caused slab fractures in both of my dog’s teeth I now have a $1300.00 vet bill and two samoyeds in a lot of pain.
I bought these bones as they have a very high rating, I thought I was doing my research well and making the right decision for my dogs.
I do not give them any other type of bones; and 6 months later when I took them to the vet this is what they said:
The bones are too hard and even though they deteriorate as they chew on them the damage is done, both dogs have slab fractures in their molars and need to have them removed.
Mind you my one dog is only 3 and now has no top molars thanks to these bones, I feel like a terrible dog parent and do not want this to happen to anyone else.
While the dogs do like these, the end result was pain and an extremely high vet bill.
PLEASE USE WITH CAUTION, I recommend NOT AT ALL.
While my dogs have never had an issue with these chew bones it is very important to use the sizing chart I have included before purchasing the right size Benebone for your four-legged friend.
Going through both Amazon and Chewy who are the two biggest sellers of this product, I can tell you from over 100,000 reviews, 87% of dog parents gave this chew bone a five star rating, while only 4% gave it a one star rating.
At Our Dogs World 101 we are always looking for the best products available for your dog and the pet parent, and I either use the products that I review or thoroughly research them before writing anything.
If there are any products you would like some unbiased and professional research done on drop them in the comments and I will do my best to get back to you with my honest opinion as soon as possible.
